 Our American legal system, while foundational, often falls short of equitable justice, with inconsistencies that lead to profound disparities across our communities. Too often, these imbalances result in cycles of poverty, disrupted families, and a denial of basic human rights for individuals who are deserving of dignity, freedom, and fairness in every aspect of their lives.

The Honorable Thelma Wyatt Cummings Moore dedicated her life to challenging these injustices. As a distinguished member of the Georgia Judiciary, she championed advocacy and justice, working tirelessly to ensure that fairness and humanity were upheld in every decision. Her legacy lives on as a beacon of integrity and dedication to uplifting the voices and rights of those in need.

The TWCM (named in honor of Chief Judge Thelma Wyatt Cummings Moore Scholarship Fund was established in her honor to create and support pathways into legal careers for aspiring advocates from our communities who may otherwise lack access to essential resources. Through comprehensive educational and vocational training, mentorship, and career development services, the Fund seeks to build the next generation of legal professionals, who, empowered with holistic support, will continue her work in bridging gaps and creating enduring systems of equity and prudence in perpetuity.
